This is for the company that is small and can't afford to be messed around and tied into a website designer whether you like him or not. He knows you are tied in and the reasons are below.
* Using propriety software means that no one except that company can manage or update your site.
PYOT uses Google which is free, so therefore free for you to use it. You dont have to start a new website. In fact it is our policy to not purchase software so that you can take over the site.
* Selling you bigger packages than you require.
PYOT uses Google which is stored in Google, not in the domain, so you don't need to worry about space.
* When you sign up for a domain address do it in your name as administrator. Often your website designer will be charging you per month for the website address but another hosting company is doing this. Why is this a problem? If you want to change your website designer he will tell you that you can do the transfer but you will lose all your emails. I do mention this because some even have given my clients problems changing it to another provider when they realised they have just had their website replaced by another website designer.
PYOT does not host the domain and will sign up on behalf of you and you will be billed by them, not PYOT. At anytime you are unhappy you can merely ask to change the details of the domain account rather than do a new registration. you dont lose any information. Ideally you want your registration to look like the PYOT and abagilitymathsclub addresses and not milleniumadvertising. Abagility maths club now maintains their own site and I taught them over the phone to use the software. Since they have paid their design bill with me, they have not needed to pay for their website.

* The website designer does you graphics. Once you have paid your contract you have the right to them. If you want to start a new website from scratch you dont want to be begging for the graphics and you own logo.
PYOT gives you the graphics when you ask for them. One of the joys of not using TM graphics.
* So a website designer warns a client they won't get SEO if they change the website. I can't put up the copy of the results since it will show the designer;s name, but the test rank came out 0%.
PYOT tells you up front that this is a shop window and you still have to market your site. Google won't tell you how to improve your searches other than how SEO (0%) works, they need to sell advertisements. But somebody from Google told me what pushes a site up the Google search. I dont tell you until you have paid the bill.
* Costly maintenance and bad service.
PYOT charges per word / pic change. There is very little interest in holding onto your site at all costs. I do changes on the 25th of each month so that I dont need to update little changes daily. It keeps the cost down to hardly worth charging. The only thing in it for us are referrals because you love us!
